The concept of flow comes from the author Daniel Pink in his brilliant book Drive.

Flow is being so immersed in what you are doing that time flies and everything else fades into the background. I have had this at various times, during various activities throughout my life.

In my senior years at highschool it was when I was drawing or painting. I have often experienced flow when reading a great book or learning something new. In more recent years it has been when decorating cakes.

Now I think I have found flow in blog writing. Late at night when my family is in bed sleeping and my mind is buzzing, minutes pass like seconds and before I know it a few hours have slipped by. Typing, reading, reworking, editing and rereading. I could be a crazy writer hermit, if I didn’t have a day job, a 1 year old son and a husband. But for now, I will settle for these sleep stolen, should be doing schoolwork or housework moments of blissful word crafting.
