I know, you all probably know this already, but I am just currently marveling in the awesomeness of this multi-tasking queen. Today as I’m doing my makeup, I realise my hair is well overdue a wash, well really it’s just a little past its best. I’m already dressed and mostly ready for the day, so the thought of the laborious process that is showering with a toddler and a baby during daylight hours was very unappealing. Then a tiny spark of a thought occurs to me, Can’t baking soda be used as a dry shampoo? So I give it a go and it works!!! My hair is just-stepped-out-of-a-salon awesome. Excellent busy mum of two tiny humans hack!

I said Baking Soda was a multi-tasking queen, she can bake, clean and do your hair. Over the past few years I’ve been trying to reduce the chemical load in my life and household. One of the areas I’ve changed or in the process of changing is my cleaning products. Enter Baking Soda. Great for getting rid of coffee and tea stains on cups. It is my go to for anything that needs an extra boost of cleaning power. Oven cleaning, just sprinkle baking soda, spray with white vinegar, leave it to soak for a bit, (30mins, an hour, overnight) then wipe it clean. Sprinkle and spray bathroom cleaning. I am also wanting to try DIY baking soda air freshener jars, but haven’t got there yet.

SIDETRACK: How do mums write blogs??? Seriously people, I thought I would just quickly jump on my laptop and jot down a few quick thoughts as Mr 2 yo is happily playing and Miss 3 mo is asleep. So while I’ve been writing this, the focus of the play turned to me. I’ve had my hair brushed aka being hit with a hairbrush, the kitchen stool has been “fixed” aka hammering loud enough to just not quite explode my eardrums (it’s a miracle the baby is still asleep), along with about 5 other play activities that have requested of me to pretend to eat non-food items, sing nursery rhymes, avoid electrocution, been asked “What’s that?” no less than 20 times, touch my nose to random objects??? etc.

Washing machine is beeping, toddler needs lunch, baby will wake soon, I best get going!
